With perfect weather this past Wednesday night all drivers were ready to go racing after Mother Nature ruined our fun 1 week ago. Fans were treated to a great show but familiar names still dominated at the head of the class.

The Box Stock First Year class saw Lucas Comeau run to another dominant victory in the 10 lap contest. Comeau took the lead early on and despite a spin in turn 2 which resulted in the race’s only yellow, Comeau was able to take the lead back from Ella Shipclark and cruise on to his 2nd win in a row over Ella Shipclark and Keegan Elliott with Aiden Berry completing the field.

The 2nd year Box Stock class saw an incredible battle in for the lead between 2 of the division’s top drivers. Dylan Moore led in the early going but Barron Greer was on the move taking over the top spot on lap 3. Greer did all he could do over the final 7 laps and held on for his 2nd win of the year over Dylan Moore and Hunter Ford

The Rookie 1 class saw Kyle Stewart take the lead at the drop of the green flag before last week’s winner Braiden Comeau took over the top spot for good. Comeau would pull away to a straight away lead to secure his 2nd season triumph. Landen Slinger settled for his 2nd straight runner up finish while Kyle Stewart and Max Petro completed the field.

In Rookie 2 Brennan Moore was the dominant force throughout the entire 15 lap feature go. Moore took the top spot away from early pace setter Kalen Draper and would lead the rest of the way to score 2 in a row over Draper and Noah Massey.

The Jr. Sportsman 2 division was a classic battle among all drivers in the field which resulted in some early race cautions due to the hard racing going on. Once everyone settled down Braxton D’Alessio, the defending Jr. Sportsman 1 champion was comfortably in front and would not be denied scoring his first win of the season with Trent Wallace and Michael McKay rounding out the top 3.

In the Jr. Restricted division Braxton D’Alessio was looking to find his way to the lead and look for the evening sweep. However Cole Fredericks was on a mission on this night and looking for redemption. Fredericks never got to start last week’s event with mechanical issues and made his time up front as he held off repeated challenges from Zack Renaud and Braxton D’Alessio to score his first win of 2016 with D’Alessio finishing a close 2nd and opening day winner Christopher Pryor finishing a solid 3rd.

The Stock light drivers had a great battle during their 15 lap event and opening day winner Eric Castonguay was in search of his 3rd win in a row dating back to last year’s Fall Karting Nationals. Castonguay took over the top spot early on from race leader Dylan Tinkler and never let go scoring his 3rd straight victory and 2nd of 2016 with Tinkler coming home 2nd while Sportsman regular Tyler Reynolds barely edged out younger brother Evan for the 3rd and final podium spot.

Stock heavy had another great battle during their 15 lap feature event but things did get quite physical as just before halfway Dave Topping and another competitor made contact causing Topping to slow with a problem in turn 4. Topping was taken to the ambulance and despite a sore back, would be ok. In the end Brian Clark would survive several late race yellow flags and a hard charging Raymond David to grab back to back wins while Mark Greer completed the top 3.

Next week a full program is in store for all divisions with racing starting at 7pm.

The Brockville Ontario Speedway would like to thank our karting sponsors for the 2016 racing season: All Out Performance, Power Sports Garage, Blasko Mechanical, Billings Automotive, Dan Smith Flooring, Solid Rock Masonry
