Late season racing events have become well-known for their higher than average paydays. At the end of the 2020 schedule, officials at Brockville Ontario Speedway handed over a cheque for $10,000 to Mat Williamson, who captured the 358 Modified finale at the DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals. Track owner/promoter Paul Kirkland says being to offer a winner’s share of that amount helps draw some of the sport’s biggest names to the season-ending event.
“We have a great group of sponsors and promotional partners that are always ready to step up to the plate,” Paul Kirkland said. “Like the drivers, our raceday crew works through a checklist to make sure everything is complete and ready to roll before heading to the green flag. It is certain that there will be some last-minute changes, but we’re always committed to giving our fans the best show possible.”
This year’s edition of the King Edward Auto Parts – Carquest/Dirt Outlaw Apparel Northeast Fall Nationals hits the ground running Friday, October 15th with the 2021 Championship Crowning events for the Ogilvie’s Auto and Fleet Series. 358 Modified teams will run a 60 lap feature, with $2,500 to the winner while the Sportsman-Modifieds have a 50 lapper paying $1,000 to win on the table. Also on the program is a 30 lap Mini Stock feature and a 25 lap Action Sprint Tour headliner. Racing starts at 6:00, with hot laps and time trials prior to the night’s first green flag.
The Saturday, October 16th line-up will start at 2:30 after hot laps and time trials and will be highlighted by a 100 lap Mr. DIRTcar Championship Series feature paying $10,000 to win. Sportsman teams will tackle the popular oval on Temperance Lake Road for a 50 lap ‘A’ main to determine the Mr. DIRTcar Series Championship, at a $1,900 payday. Street Stock, Vintage Modifieds and the 25 lap Action Sprint Tour championship final are also part of the Saturday schedule.
Advance tickets must be reserved through a link on the ‘schedule’ page of the track website, with provincial government mandated COVID-19 screening required. A limited number of camping sites on the speedway grounds are still available on a first-come, first-served basis.
