The final day for the 2025 DIRT Outlaw Apparel Fall Nationals at the Brockville Ontario Speedway saw plenty of racing action. Championships were on the line in the DIRTcar 358 Modified and DIRTcar Sportsman Series plus titles were up for grabs in the Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club. Street Stocks also put on another classic battle that saw intense racing from green to checkered.
Mat Williamson locked up his 2nd DIRTcar 358 Modified Series Championship by walking through the gate Saturday afternoon and by Saturday night lined up 7th for the 100 lap series finale. 2024 series champion Felix Roy jumped out front and was the driver to beat with Kalen Draper and Kyle Dingwall chasing him. Roy pulled away early on a track that provided several lanes in the early laps. Dingwall pressured Roy for the lead but also on the move was newly crowned champion Mat Williamson, as he charged from 7th to the top three just before halfway, but had a long way to go to catch Dingwall and Roy. Track conditions started to change and drivers began to migrate to the inside lane making it tough to pass but at lap 65 Williamson had caught the leader and was putting the pressure on as they cut through lapped traffic. With 20 laps to go a multi-car tangle took place in turn 4 sending Jordan McCreadie for a wild flip. McCreadie was able to climb out of the car uninjured but was done for the night. On the restart Williamson went to work again, keeping pace with Roy, who appeared to be on his way to his first series win. With 7 laps to go Williamson saw and opening off turn two and shot by Roy for the lead. On the same lap Kyle Dingwall’s great run came to an end as smoked poured out of the hood of the 2012 track champion and was done for the night. On the final restart Mat Williamson would go unchallenged and lead the final 7 laps to become the third driver to sweep Big Block and 358 Modified events at the Fall Nationals. Roy crossed second ahead of Gary Lindberg Chris Raabe and Mike Mahaney.
Shane Pecore and Emmett Waldron came into the night separated by 4 points for the DIRTcar Sportsman Series title and Waldron would take over the lead over Jacob Nadeau and track regular Domonick Merkley. Waldron looked strong in the early laps and would drive away from the field but as quick as he broke away, lapped traffic got involved very quickly. Waldron started to make his way through the lapped cars but on lap 12 would run into trouble, getting into a tangle, which drew the caution. Waldron was forced to the pits for a flat tire, but would return. This put Jacob Nadeau at the head of the pack while series points leader Shane Pecore had moved to the number 4 spot. Super DIRT Week champion Richard Murtaugh was also in the mix moving to third by lap 20 and pressured Nadeau and Merkley for the top two spots. On lap 23 Murtaugh would take control of the race moving Nadeau to second with Shane Pecore now third. As the laps clicked off Emmett Waldron was passing cars but was not able to crack the top ten before the finish. On this night Richard Murtaugh would make his first Brockville visit a memorable one as he claimed his 4th series win of the year and 13th win this season. Jacob Nadeau crossed in 2nd with Shane Pecore third, which locked up his second series title. Dylan Kirkland and Tristan Ladouceur rounded out the top 5.
The Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club held double features for both 50/60 and 70/80 divisions. Chris Wilson was the dominant force in the first 50/60 feature leading Tim Bailey and Joey Hilts early on. Wilson held the bottom lane on a slick race track and survived a late race charge by Jeff Cledgett to secure his third straight Fall Nationals win in the division. Jeff Gledgett and Greg Hale completed the podium. It was much the same in the second feature as Wilson led the way but the red flew for Alain Tremblay, who took a wild flip in turn three. Tremblay was uninjured in the accident. When the green flew Wilson was in control with Cledgett close behind. Greg Hale was making the top side work as he made his way to third. In the end Chris Wilson was unstoppable sweeping the 50/60 races for a second straight year while Cledgett finished second again, Greg Hale finished third which was plenty good to claim his third series title in a row.
In the 70/80 division Brian Comeau was the dominant driver in the held over feature from Friday night. Comeau would battle Steve Billings in the early laps but would take the lead on lap 8 and never look back scoring his 3rd Fall Nationals title in the division. Matt Barbour claimed the runner up spot with Billings taking third. In the night cap, Pete Stapper would hit the front stretch wall ending his night early on lap 1. Ian Gordon was looking to seal up the 70/80 championship and led the way over Steve Billings and Chris Herbison. Gordon was in control from start to finish and would drive away from the field to claim the win and the series title. Steve Billings and Chris Herbison completed the top three.
The 25 lap Street stock feature provided some of the most exciting action all night long. Brock Gregory, Zack Bleich and Doug O’Blenis put on a show early as they battled for the race lead. Behind them some great racing was taking place, but all came apart on lap 8 as Bruno Boivin’s car lost power down the front stretch heading into turn 1 causing a multi-car accident. When the race went back to green Gregory remained up front, but Brighton Speedway Thunderstock champion Tyler French was on the charge taking second from Bleich on lap 13 and then ran down the race leader. From this point forward Gregory and French put on a classic side by side battle for the lead with no driver getting the clear advantage. With 2 laps to go Gregory pulled in front and hold the lead as French looked to get back by. On the final lap Tyler French got to the outside made it close but Brock Gregory would edge out his Brighton rival for his first Fall Nationals championship. Tyler French, Zack Bleich, Mike Lucas and Garren Taylor rounded out the top 5.
