One word could describe the weather at The Brockville Ontario Speedway Bullring, that word is “hot”. Near 35 degree temperatures created some dry track conditions which made things difficult on new comers and veterans alike this past Wednesday night.

In First Year Box Stock Aiden Berry led in the early going but the driver on the move was Keegan Elliott. After 2 runner up finishes on the season Elliott made a big move on the top side of turn 3 to take over the lead and cruise on to score his first career win over Bryson Winters, who’s season debut resulted in a 2nd place effort while early leader Aiden Berry scored his 2nd straight top 3 finish.

The 2nd Year Box Stock division saw Dylan Moore lead the early portion but Grayson Reddick was looking to keep the roll going having won the past 2 weeks. Reddick slipped by Moore in turn 2 just past halfway and would go unchallenged for the 3rd straight week with Moore crossing 2nd and Blake Smith who’s brand new motor gave him a solid 3rd place finish.

Rookie 1 saw a fantastic battle between the 2 top drivers in the division as Kyle Stewart and Braydon Comeau battled for the top spot with Stewart getting the advantage the majority of the race. just past halfway the top 2 made contact in turn 3 bringing out the caution and handing the lead over to Landen Slinger. On the final restart Slinger jumped out to a quick lead but Kyle Stewart was closing quick. After 2 runner up finishes Landen Slinger finally got the job done collecting his first ever win over Stewart and Comeau.

In Rookie 2 it was a great see saw battle between Brennan Moore and Kalen Draper through the entire 15 lap affair. The top 2 drivers battled hard while Devyn Como watched closely from 3rd. Both Draper and Moore battled hard with Moore getting the advantage for good on the final restart and would march on to his 5th straight victory over Draper and Comeau.

The very tough Jr. Sportsman 2 division saw Trent Wallace lead in the early going and was looking to put the bad luck behind him. Just past the halfway point Mason Barkley was on the charge getting by Braxton D’Alessio for 2nd and quickly ran down the leader with 5 to go. Off turn 2 down the back stretch Wallace began to slow with problems handing the lead over to Barkley with Jacob Herbison who started 9th on the grid to move into 2nd with D’Alessio 3rd. On the white flag lap Herbison got close but couldn’t make the pass for the win as Mason Barkley claimed his first win since September 3 of 2014 in the division over Herbison and D’Alessio.

In Stock Light Sportsman driver Tristan Draper was the driver to beat as he took over the lead at the drop of the green over Tyler Reynolds and points leader Eric Castonguay. Draper had a fast kart and was looking to become one of the few drivers to claim a win on the kart track and a win on the big track in the same year. Tyler Reynolds gave Draper all he could handle in the final laps but Draper was too strong taking his first win in 3 starts in 2016 over Reynolds and Eric Casonguay.

The Jr. Restricted division was set to go and so was Zack Renaud who took the lead at the drop of the green and was looking to go to victory lane for the 2nd time this season having missed last Wednesday’s action. Behind the leader Cole Fredericks and Braxton D’Alessio put on a great show for 2nd and 3rd with Fredericks winning that battle just past halfway. Over the remaining laps Zack Renaud put it on auto pilot and marched on to his 2nd win of the year over Fredericks and D’Alessio.

The Stock Heavy division closed out a great night of racing and Raymond David was looking to drive into the winners circle for the first time at The Bullring but new comer Ryan Roth and Mark Greer made it tough on him as the battled for position in the opening laps. David was able to hold off all challengers and pull away to a comfortable lead to score his first ever Brockville win over Roth while points leader Brian Clark edged out Mark Greer for 3rd at the checkers.
