Our nation will celebrate its 156th birthday Saturday, July 1st and Brockville Ontario Speedway will mark the auspicious occasion as Rycon Electrical presents the 2nd round of this year’s Ogilvie’s Auto & Fleet Triple Crown Series for DIRTcar 358 and Sportsman-Modifieds.
On the strength of their opening round wins, Ryan Arbuthnot and Shane Pecore occupy the top spot in their respective Triple Crown point standings. Renfrew, Ontario’s Arbuthnot has 3 feature wins in 358 Modified action, while Pecore – who hails from Cornwall, Ontario – has a pair of Sportsman-Mod checkered flags. With 50 and 40-lap feature events on the table, every team in the starting line-ups will be looking for an advantage.
With the exception of 2020 where no champion was declared, Arbuthnot has captured the last 3 Ogilvie’s Series championships. Heading into this weekend’s action, he also holds-down the top spot in the 358 Mod standings, with a 14-point margin over runner-up Johnathon Ferguson. On the Sportsman-Modified side of the ledger, 2-time defending track champion Bobby Herrington leads the chase by 36-markers over Brennan Moore.
In addition to the latest round of the Ogilvie’s Auto & Fleet Triple Crown Series, the Canada Day date at The BOS will also include Novice Sportsman, Street Stocks and a 50-lap feature for the PM Promotions DIRTcar Pro Stock Farnham Ale & Lager Series, with Canada Day Fireworks to wrap-up the night. Gates open at 5:00, with racing at 7:00.
It isn’t too early to make your plans for the return of the Super DIRTcar Big Block Modified tour – presented by Karra’s Burgers ad Fries – Wednesday, August 2nd. For the first time since 2019, the biggest names in the sport will be back to tackle the popular clay oval on Temperance Lake Road. The line-up will also include Sportsman-Modifieds and NLMA Late Models.
Brockville Ontario Speedway drivers, fans and staff extend their condolences and deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the No. 44 Small Block Modified team on the sudden passing of Elizabeth Ferguson. Her dedication to the sport, cheerful smile and happy disposition will be missed by all.
