It won’t be long before Brockville Ontario Speedway waves its first green flag of the 2023 season.

It takes a lot to get things ready for a fresh season of home track racing. Track owner/promoter Paul Kirkland and the promotional have been working hard on this year’s schedule and their efforts have produced the type of pre-season headlines that have made the popular Eastern Ontario oval on Temperance Lake Road a fan favourite racing destination for more than half a century.

One of the biggest pieces of news is the return of the Super DIRTcar Series. First the first time since 2019, the Big Block Modified tour teams will be back at The BOS for a mid-week special event Wednesday, August 2nd. Joining the bill that night will be the Sportsman-Modifieds and the NLMA Late Models. Also returning to the line-up after a 4-year hiatus will be the Empire Super Sprints for a Saturday, June 24th showcase event. Kirkland says the pair of special events will be part of a schedule that includes a great year of regular season Saturday night racing.

“Opening night for the 2023 season is Saturday, May 13th and with the release of the official schedule, we’ve added a couple of marquee shows to the line-up,” said Paul Kirkland. “Saturday, July 8th Trick Race Parts presents a Run What Ya Brung 50-lapper, paying $4000.00 to win. Draper Doors Night – Saturday, July 17th – hosts Topless Racing for the 358 Modifieds, Sportsman-Mods and Crate Sprint Cars.”

Kirkland also points out that for the first time in 29 years of racing, track officials have decided to schedule Saturday, August 5th as a night off to give racers and staff a chance to spend time with family. The promotional team also thanks returning sponsors and welcomes new marketing partners for their support of the speedway.

Anyone entering the pit area will once again be required to present an electronic Speedwaiver, in accordance with industry-wide insurance regulations. Instructions are available now on the track website, with a QR Code that links to the adult waiver available. A completed waiver must be presented weekly to gain access to the pit area.

The good news keeps coming as the 2023 schedule gets closer to the Saturday, May 13th season opener at Brockville Ontario Speedway.
